Bright Bed

Horticulture again today (but definitely not tomorrow!).

This bed, which I have mentioned before, seems to be getting yet gaudier and brighter.

It's only a small bed at the front of our house that back in late March was just a jumble of weeds with thickly inter-knotted roots.

A bit of sweat and toil got rid of some of the worst of the junk, and we put a few plants in, such as the delphiniums, and scattered some seeds (e.g. nasturtiums and Californian poppies). The 'opium' poppies and the beautiful dark-red hollyhock arrived on their own, with no human hand (directly) involved.
