the bridge is up!

We celebrated the day in Old Town, in the RV park. It's become a nice tradition. My brother & sister each rent a spot for their RV's and an extra spot between them and we hang out for the day, eating good food and enjoying good company. It's all relative, as my brother said. :)

The Siuslaw Bridge was recently renovated, now that it is more than 100 years old. & we have a dredge in the port for a month dredging the bottom back to a functional depth. Every four hours they have to lift open the bridge to let the barge hauling the muck out to sea & back.

As my sister & SIL were walking me to my car, they sounded an alarm & opened the bridge. way cool! I wasn't sure I could catch a picture that far away but this isn't bad for across the water with the sun in my eyes.
