Happy Fourth of July!

I went with a friend to see the fireworks in Pleasant Hill. We parked and carried chairs, warm clothing, mosquito protection, and camera and tripod to a hill with a view toward College Park High School where the fireworks were scheduled to be set off. We arrived early and witnessed a competing fireworks show that seemed to be coming from a nearby golf course. Neither we nor anyone around us were expecting that.

It was a beautiful, warm evening. We could have left the extra clothes at home, but we definitely needed mosquito protection.

This was my first attempt at photographing fireworks and I didn't get a lot of keepers, but I think I'll be better prepared next time. For sure I'll bring a flashlight for checking my camera settings in the dark!
