Just names.....

......in the front of an old schoolbook.....Willie Pigg, R Glover, William Henderson from Hare Law, Florrie Jay Lois, Florry Taylor, Charles Watson, Janet Carr. They probably all lived and went to school in Annfield Plain, County Durham in the very early years of the 20th century (the book, The Object-Lesson Readers, Book 1, The Food we Eat was published in 1894) Wonder what happened to them all........it's possible that some of those boys never made it through the 1st World War.....it makes you think.....

Another day 'around the doors' waiting for a couple of parcels to be delivered in the mail and making numerous phonecalls to official bodies who apparently need to know I'm retiring at the end of the month....the list runs to 2 sides of A4 (though I'm willing to admit my handwriting IS at the flamboyant end of the size scale!)

LATE BREAKING NEWS....The firstborn has just rung to say she's had her marks back for her final degree project.....91% no less, whoo hoo, well done that girl!!!.....now I'm off to weep some tears of pride and joy....sniff....sniff....
