Introducing Bowlby

It surprises me that I have blipped for nearly a month without introducing Bowlby or Carla, my 2 cats. Bowlby loves sleeping on a fleecy throw on the back of an armchair. At other times she is a very demanding and vocal cat who likes everyone to know when she arrives in a room.
She does not pose for photos, so the best way is to catch her asleep.

Bowlby is named after John Bowlby, the child psychotherapist, whose theories of Attachment and Bonding produced major changes in the care of mothers and babies after birth. I won't go on about it, but attachment theory is very important to our understanding of the emotional development of children.

(And why did Bowlby receive a man's name - that's for another blip!)
