Alternative cooling...

This is a creative way too get forced cooling on the bearing of the lube oil generator of unit EC 7.
This small generator supplies current to the main lube oil pump which lubricates the whole shaftline.
The thought behind this generator is that when the powersupply fails, this generator (which is on the main shaft) supplies enough oil to the unit to run out safely.
Other units have a lube oil pump that is driven by the main shaft.
This generator has ball bearings and from time to time they give trouble.
Now one bearing is overheated and putting a bit of fresh grease did not work out well.
Now we put a hose. secured with duct tape (Mickey Mousetape :-) ) which blows compressed instrument air in the direction of the bearing.

Cannot comment for 2 hours because we are going to watch the soccer game between Holland (Netherlands) and Urugay!
We have huge screen installed in the control room and while keeping one eye at the running units, we have the other eye at the screen...
