When is a vignette not a vignette?

... when its straight out of my full frame camera with a DX (cropped) lens on it set at the widest angle.

I know, I know, it technically is a vignette in the traditional sense, but what I meant was its not a 'fake' vignette.

Was experimenting today with the old (and broken) 18-55mm lens from my D50 on the D700 - just to see what sort of effect it could produce. I quite like it!

Whatdoyathink?
