carbon colour footprint
place: parking bench, Granville Island (CAN)
mood: displaced
The sunlight, in combination with the act of weathering, has naturally altered the colouring of the wood, so that it is now taken on a darker brown hue in some parts, and a lighter one in others. So, the sunlight is in this case, acts as both the black paint that shades and the white paint that tints.
The reddish brown of the rusty metal, which has now been painted over, has apparently transfered onto the wood where it was once screwed in. This serves as a real life demonstration of how colour can be added to another to warm the hue.
I love how the almost-neon yellowish-green painted metal contrasts with the various tints and shades and warm tones of brown.
It's funny how coincidental life is sometimes. Out of all the parking benches on Granville Island I could have snapped, I chose the one where the numbers of the metal bolt are the same as my _______, but just not in the right order.
I think it's very interesting how colour can serve as an indication of the past, and hints to the those who are observant of the way things were.
