R.I.P. ?

Well last night this old faithful tumble died.

I put a call in to our usual repair man ... no reply and no call back from the message which I left on the answering machine.

So tonight, in desperation, I rang another bloke out of the local paper ... and to my dismay (and disbelief) he told me (after 2 questions) to scrap it!

He said he would charge me £7 for parts (assuming my diagnosis of the belt being 'gone' is correct), £35 call out charge and at least £100 labour to fix it, so I might as well buy a new one ...

I'm now hoping against hope that my repair man gets back to me soon ...
