A snake in the hand...

Family came to visit today. As they rang the doorbell they looked over to their right to find a small garter snake slithering along our foundation. When we opened the door to greet them, there was all this commotion as they raced to catch it. Like a young boy collecting crawdads and tadpoles, my brother-in-law snatched the snake up and held it as if he had handle this snake everyday. The snake was scared and continued to curl itself into little balls attempting to set itself free. It looked so poetic that I had to take a picture.
