Small Road Big Lorry

How do these massive lorries end up on back roads? Do we have our reliance on SatNav to blame for this?

I lost count of the number of times we stopped so cars comming the opposite direction could squeeze through.

I get that this may be the most direct route through but would he not be better off just taking the main road?

You often get these lorries down this road. I think they must have a depo nearby and this is the route their planners take them?
