Midmar Field
Having lived next to this field for 12 years, I am quite attached to it. Walked the dogs, and crossed it often on the way to Blackford Hill.
This is a small corner. Taken all in all the site would be worth a massive amount of money if it were available to the developers - and there have been close skirmishes over the years. These have been particularly about zoning issues - and for a while cows were kept here to reinforce its claim to be agricultural land.
The cows have gone, and the grass grows more luxuriantly. It looks almost certain that the field will remain safe from housing. The latest plan is to use part of it to extend the already existing allotments at the north end. Well, at least it would still be green!
