Vats Fjorden

At 01:00 we arrived at the entrance of the Vatsfjord. A harbourtug came alongside to pick me up and brought me to a very early pre-mooring meeting on board the Hermod. In the meantime mate Arjan proceeded towing the Hermod to the entrance of the Vatsfjord as you can see on this picture. I brought my camera to the meeting and when the meeting was over i quickly went to the helicopter deck to take this picture of the tiny Retriever towing the mighty Hermod into the dark Fjord. The harbourtug brought me back and at five o'clock in the morning, we started mooring the Hermod. All her anchors were disconnected from her anchorwires, so our task was to take out the wires, connect them to numerous strongpoint all over the Fjord and let go the connection with a buoy attached.
With the Hermod moored around noon, the race started to get all the abandoned modules on deck of the Hermod on shore before the soccer match Holland-Spain starts. With a lot of Spanish crewmembers on board, an turbulent evening is guaranteed.
