Home Again, Home Again, Jiggety Jig. Back in Massachusetts again, six hours of pretty easy travel, foggy at the start and hot at the destination. We'll be back to the house in Maine in a couple of weeks for another short stay, then a longer one with four very close friends in late August & early September. I traded my yellow warblers for two very happy felines at home. Lots of purrs and kisses, no hard feelings, they were treated like royalty by our sitter. The bags are unpacked, the television has the big match and I'm a bit tired.
We woke early this morning, leaving before six. Everything had a blue cast, and it was extremely foggy. I know that when we wake tomorrow we'll be surprised that we can't smell the sea and hear the yellow warblers starting their day. We've lived by the tides and thankfully it takes some time lose those rhythms.

Here's an old photograph with our house in the middle, the house on the right suffered the same fate as our barn, a sad cave-in from neglect, years ago, when I was very little.
