Black Skimmer

Today, I went out with the Massachusetts Audubon naturalists that are monitoring the shorebirds at Allens Pond, Massachusetts Audubon S anctuary in Westport, Massachusetts. We were going to try to get pictures of the American Oystercatcher's chicks. We were able to see the oystercatcher's chicks off in the distance, but we did not want to disturb them, so their pictures were very tiny. However, a Black Skimmer was on the beach. It is a rare bird for this area. I was able to get close to the bird to obtain some nice pictures.
