the old school

I spent ages looking for inspiration for a shot for today and finally decided on this one. This is one of the 3 primary schools in the area that was shut forever in 2008. It opened in 1878. The part of the school you can see was the old nursery entrance where both my sons attended and just before the school closed there was a wee climbing frame and obstacle course for the younger pupils. Shortly after the school closed the apparatus was ripped out leaving gaping holes.

It's a real shame to see such an old building left lying and although I never attended the school I was a parent of a pupil for a 12 year span. It still upsets me.
