A Typical Irish Thatched Cottage

Traditionally, houses in Ireland had roofs thatched with either straw or reeds. This type of dwelling is becoming increasingly rare but there are still parts of the country where they can be seen and indeed are still being lived in. One such location is County Wexford in the South Eastern tip of the Island where this fine example stands.
