My Preferred Stock Exchange
"It is one of the blessings of old friends that you can afford to be stupid with them."
~Ralph Waldo Emerson
Happy 4th to my fellow American blippers!!
After eating a Texas-sized breakfast, we went to the stockyards where I spent a lot of money on tourist stuff. It was fun. We saw the "Stockyards Stampede" which entailed about a dozen rather bored longhorn steer walking down the street between cowboys/girls on horseback. Still funny somehow.
I was down over the long holiday weekend to visit my roommates and our mutual good friends from college. My roommates married and moved to the Dallas/Fort Worth area. The other good friends of ours married the following year and just got a divorce (an amicable one, whatever that means). The ex-husband has also just moved to the DFW area. So the five of us (plus my roommates' daughter) spent the weekend catching up and having fun. It's nice to know even after four years apart, we can pick our friendships right back up like no time has past.
A precious gift indeed.
