Hidden Talents

Not a particularly well taken blip, but one for my own records. Way, way back, before any of the magpie siblings were twinkles in anyones' eyes, it would seem my mum was a bit of an architecture whizz kid. So much so that her father paid for her to be trained in architectury things in an office down in Devon.

She proudly dragged out a portfolio almost as big as her from somewhere today which had all her testimonial drawings that she did as part of her exams and very impressive they were too. Beautiful lettering, drawings and technical diagrams. Sadly circumstances were such that she never completed her qualifications and she went on to work in Southampton in town planning before meeting her man and going on to be a 1950s housewife.

It did make me wonder how things may have been different if she'd carried on.

And at least it explains why I'm quite good at colouring in.

(If you suffer from eye strain, here it is bigified.)
