Picking Flaws

We had a lovely visit from out cowboy of a landlord today.

He told us that he's bringing in painters. How fun. He also had the cheek to tell us (4 decent, clean and fairly tidy students) to clean and hoover the flat before they came in. This might seem like a reasonable request but you have to know the story behind this flat.

The day we moved in, I turned up at the flat and was told I couldn't move into my room straight away because there was still someone living there! When I eventually did get in, there was dirt and dust along every skirting board, cobwebs all over the wardrobe and radiator. When I moved the bed away from the wall there was a a huge mouldy damp patch.

It was disgusting.

I phoned the landlord to complain about the poor standard of the flat and asked him to carry out some basic repairs. He basically said "you're students, it's how you're supposed to live". He also claimed that he had hired a professional cleaner to come in earlier that week!

I couldn't believe it when he complained about our cleanliness! 2 dirty dishes, some clutter on the coffee table and a full washing basket next to the tumble dryer.

I can't wait until I move out (only four weeks now!! :D)
