The Den!

It was a mixed bag today. Mostly happy but J decided to display his spectacular over-reaction to a scraped shin, which he got whilst re-building the den.

His friend E, his sister K and their mum (my friend M) were with us along with J's cousins A and N.

J loves his big cousin N (who is nearly 12). Sometimes I see such adoration in his face when he looks at her. Other times.......well, it's with such anger and she's the only person I see him react so aggressively toward! It's like a brother/sister relationship as they see each other a lot. N certainly knows how to (quietly) wind him up tight, then act all casual and bemused at his explosive reaction. When he confronts her, she calmly denies any wrong doing, usually with a slight curl of her lip.

So we also experienced some of that relationship today too.

By the time I took this picture, J had scraped his leg, fought with N, E was exhausted and wanted to be home immediatley, A, being the empath, was feeling a bit upset and we (the mums) were on the verge of running very fast through the woods in the hope they wouldn't be able to find us.

Still......overall a good day.
