Yellow card
The Waverley Bar on St Mary's Street, Edinburgh, is the perfect example of a bar that achieves almost total Jarvisness by sheer perseverance and stubbornness. Its selection of beers is extremely limited, but that is because little has changed in the place since the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II (pictured, above cash register). The proprietor, Ian, frowns upon bad language and has been known to show a Jarvis a yellow card for swearing in pub conversation. However, its old-world ambiance is totally Jarvis. One of Edinburgh's - indeed Europe's - little-known gems.
