The frogs have invaded...
OK, this is not pretty! #1 daughter has a civil service role to do with environment - as the PS to the Minister. So she got a bit toity when she found there was no composting going on back at the ranch. One day a large composter was delivered to the front door. And it has been quite fun feeding the host of creepy crawlies and sluggy things that work away all day to turn the left-overs into useful stuff.
Although I always find it fascinating the speed with which they all disappear as soon as the lid is lifted and light shines on them.
Anyway, the latest development is that the frogs have moved in - mob-handed!
Here is my question to all those composters out there. If all the creepy crawlies are there to break down the organic matter, and the frogs are there to scoff the creepy crawlies, is the whole thing not becoming counter-productive? By reducing the population of the insect-workers, are we also reducing compost production?
Answers please on a postcard on recycled paper lol !
