Comforting

Today was mostly dry weather-wise, except for the bit of the afternoon that coincided with J's football training. Much excitement for J who seemed to view playing football in the rain as some form of rite of passage. Less exciting for me and A who normally like to hang around reading, drawing, etc. We stuck it out under a tree for a short while but it wasn't long before we retreated to a cafe for hot chocolate and a pot of tea.

Fairly chilled day with more ticking off things off the lengthy 'before we go away' list. And I even came up with a plan for finishing off the work loose-ends which stands a reasonable chance of at least partial success. Sounds good to me.

Dinner and party planning (his) with Carl and then book group for me. Time to choose our summer read - the last two have been duds so hopefully we'll pick better this time.
