How to Cure a Broodiness in a Chicken

A bag of frozen peas, placed on the nest will cool the chicken down and return her swiftly to her main function as an egg layer. Or maybe not! She wouldn't sit on the peas. So then we tried a "clutch" of ice cubes. Finally we have resorted to dunking her in a cold bath. Nothing has worked. Any ideas fellow blippers?
