Gate

I think gates are something that to a very great extent are loaded with symbolic and emotinal stuff! Think of all books, films and images you´ve seen through the years (if your as old as me!) where a gate has had an important role. People standing in front of gates feel usually strong expectiations, horyfying as for the ringbearers in front of the gate to Morias caves, or positve as in the wardrobe gate opening to Narnia....


This I found when driving from my cottage this morning! In a small village along the way there is an old estate with many buildings, all in a terrible condition. The place has always interested me and this time I parked the car and jumped over the cairn (actually trespassing!!) into the high wet grass! Sneaking around in the area with soaking shoes and trousers legs ...and suddenly there it was!


....actually, when thinking more of this, many of us everyday are sitting, filled with any type of expectation or foreboding of trouble, in front of gates....rectangular ones...that shines...

(Had to put up with wet socks and shoes for the rest of the day at work...."Blipomania" is the word for this condition!)
