Play Misty For Me
The Cobbler, Arrochar
The summit was shrouded in mist and pretty much all the way that I walked I never met anybody else. T in the Park was on and the Scottish Open just along the road was happening, so that was probably the main reason for it being so quiet.
The absence of people and the usual absence of sound that comes with walking through the mist and being on my own on a hill I had never climbed before did create a rather unusually eerie feel to my hillclimb, I kept on imagining some knife weilding nutter just appear out of the mist. Funny, as I got near the top I could hear people laugh as well, although I had no idea where they were in relation to me. Its amazing how easy it is to become slightly disorientated in misty conditions and how dangerous it potentially is, even without my overactive imagination!
