Here are son-in-law D, and grand-daughter Z, with one of the alpacas at Lost River Alpacas in Nooksack.

It was a very interesting visit. Each of the alpacas has its own distinct personality, and the herd dynamics are very complex. The one thing they have in common is their dislike of being patted on the head. They interact with people on their own terms, and seem to prefer children. I might as well have been chopped liver.
