Washing rag rugs

The traditional rag rugs are weaved of rags cut from the old clothes and linen. Every summer you would take the rugs to the sea and scrub them with a rough brush and a special soap. I didn't take my mom's rugs to the sea any more but to a special small public open air washing station. There I was scrubbing and chatting along with the other people from the village who had come to wash their rugs.
