precious things

This is my gran's engagement ring with its original box.
My grandad proposed to her on 29 June 1938 and they had many happy years together before he died.
When she gave me the ring she said she hoped it would be as lucky for me as it was for her.
At the age of 97 she's quite ill but hopefully will make a full recovery.
Family and people are definitely more important than material things but it's good to have physical memories too.

I've just realised I've written some very stilted sentences - forgive me but it's late on a Friday night.
