Darwin

Arrive at the hostel at two in the morning.
C says he'll sleep until midday.
Am very glad there are no plans for an early start.
Fitful sleep thanks to roadworks and a bloke sitting outside our door talking loudly on the phone since six am, saying 'yes, yes' at approximately twenty second intervals.
We're in the Bonnie Doon of Darwin.
Crawl out of bed at 11.30am.
J and C have already been to Coles for supplies for the trip.
Fridge and floor are covered in food.
We have over $26 worth of macadamia nuts and more than 40 Primas.
Head out for more bits and pieces.
Most of the shops closed now.
J wants C to get some sandals.
C doesn't want to, but we wander...
Eventually successful in diverting them towards food.
We head to the waterfront.
It's hot.
In the rush to get ready yesterday, it's been more than 36 hours since my last substantial meal.
Massively grungry*.
Takes another hour to finally get lunch.
Food is gone in about 5 minutes.
Feel better.
Take some photos on the wharf.
Veto the WWII tunnels, which look not much more than storm drains.
Head back to the hostel.
Yes, yes man is still on the phone.
Out for tea.
Saturday night is busy in town, restaurants are full.
Opt for Noodle House takeaway.
Buy beer on the way home.
Lazy evening then back to bed.

*grumpy and hungry
