As it was the fortieth anniversary of the parents-in-law we drove to a strange little place in the middle of nowhere consisting of a few houses and a restaurant for a celebratory meal. Everyone else came in the same car which probably explained how we managed to get there half an hour before them.

Though I wasn't a full parent by this stage I nevertheless managed to be more organised than the parent of these three by supplying a plaster for Rachael when the one she had been wearing for some sort of extremely minor wound came off in the soft play area attached to the restaurant and supplying pens and paper for the three of them to write congratulations cards which they later presented to Campbell (not pictured, though pictured aplenty elsewhere in this journal) and Barbara.
