Piping plover-fledged chick

I went today to my favorite spot the Allens pond to check on "my piping plovers chicks."They they fledge at the end of last week and are now on their own running up and down the beach eating. I was sitting down in the sand, utilizing my 500 mm lens and took pictures as they walked and ran by me. Very sharply they will be leaving to migrate and I hope it is not to the Gulf.
