We made it!

Phew... We made it. This will be our home for most of the vacation. Not bad at all!

To get here (East Lansing, Michigan, USA) we needed to overcome some challenges:

* We couldn't use the automated check-in terminals because Ellis was on a separate booking and for obvious reasons they don't allow young children to travel alone.
* It was the busiest day at Schiphol airport in Amsterdam: 20000 passengers were 'handled' today. Result: we have been standing in line from the moment we arrived at the airport until we got to our seat in the plane.
* When we checked in, the seat for Ellis we had so much trouble booking magically disappeared again. This could be fixed at the gate but that took quite the effort...
* When we arrived at our friend's home, there was nobody home. Only with help of his neighbour we managed to get in.

But we are here now! Despite the long day and all the things we went through, spirits are still up. Now for some food and then to bed as we have been up for 20 hours now...
