Parting gifts

Tonight I took 50 children to the theatre.
On the train.
To see a show I loath.

Above and beyond sometimes. Above and beyond.

But these are such amazing young people and they deserve someone to look out for them, someone to create fantastic experiences for them. Im only sad it wont be me anymore after Friday.

Tonight I said goodbye to 5 of these amazing young people who I will not see again.
This is very sad. Very difficult. And I will miss them so much.

The photo is one of two bunches of flowers that these pupils gave me tonight. My house is just full of flowers at the moment, its very touching.

And while it is certainly not a great photo - blackberry, train station, bad lighting, train pulling in, too tired to edit properly (it was gone midnight when I got home) it means something special to me.
