locked out

Keisha, our nearly 12 year old cat who still meows like a kitten, is an indoor cat that loves to go in the yard when the dogs are let out. She likes to flop onto her side and scratch her back against the patio stones or stalk out chipmunks and squirrels.

What she dislikes, however, is being locked out.
That's when her state of panic sets in and she'll start to meow loudly and paw at the door. Please oh please oh please let me inside I don't want to be out here forever. I went upstairs to grab my camera and opened the door a couple inches to photograph her, but she'd calmed down by then.
