Mackerell 2010

Summer on the North Sea means mackerell. Yesterday the bosun and his A/B's caught a lot of them. I am not a fish expert, but I do know that the mackerell should be big and fat by now, it is the end of July. But the ones we have are not too fat and relative small. Maybe a different type. I also heard news about the new herring being to skinny. Skinny or not, i showed Dennis our mate how to smoke fish this morning and here you see him keeping an eye on the temperature. They were delicious! Warm smoked mackerell taste absolutely gorgeous.
