Corfe Castle
We spent today walking around this ruin. Such a great sight! Though it is not a natural ruin,The demolition of the castle in 1646 by the Parliamentarians marked the end of a rich history as both fortress and royal residence. So what is left standing today is from being undermined and blown up!
I found it quite hard to imagine how people could live in such a building until i saw a picture of where things would have been.
The stones that fell during the demolition were stolen and used to build the village which stands below, also called corfe castle.
