Peacock

Peacock, Inachis io. First one I've seen this year, found basking on a clump of blackberry in the morning sun at Roxton. Apart from Gatekeepers, Large Whites and Ringlets there seems to be a real dearth of butterflies this year I've only seen a couple of Red Admirals so far too.
