Back to Buttonwood

Riley and I went back to Buttonwood Farms today to check out the sunflowers again, and this time try to get some of that famous Buttonwood ice cream. Well, we saw the sunflowers....you cant miss them!...but there was a very long line for the homemade ice cream, so we passed on that.

Every year since 2004, Buttonwoods Farm has the "Sunflowers for Wishes" fundraiser.

Sunflowers for Wishes benefits the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Connecticut, a non-profit organization devoted to making wishes possible for children with life-threatening medical conditions.

Bouquets of sunflowers are given to you in exchange for a $5.00 donation to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Buttonwoods Farm gives 100% of all proceeds directly to Make-A-Wish.

14 acres of fields, with well over 300,000 sunflowers for your viewing pleasure. It's amazing to see, and I suggest if youre ever anywhere near Griswold, CT in the USA around this time of the year...check it out!
