Early morning in Yagodina
I finally found out where the cows go in the mornings. It took me several days of detective work. The house cows are milked at 6 am and then the owners gently encourage them to walk up the main street where they start to gather. They then move off as a straggly herd towards the climb up to the meadows. It was misty this morning and I like the way the light gives an ethereal quality to the daily task.
People in this village work very hard. After the cows went off, villagers started out into the fields to continue to cut the hay by scythe, turn and pile it up with large forks and then hoist it above head height onto trailers.
