Avondale House
In 1846, Charles Stuart Parnell, political darling of the Irish, who accomplished so much for the rights of the native population, was born in this house which is preserved as a monument to his memory and is open to the public. Situated in the Forest Park just outside the town of Rathdrum in County Wicklow, Avondale sits in a beautiful region known as "The Garden of Ireland".
