Royal visit
Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II paid a passing visit to Stornoway at lunchtime. She flew into the airport with several members of her family, to board the MV Hebridean Princess, shown in pic. The vessel behind is the Isle of Lewis, our service ferry, whose 12.40pm departure was delayed in order to give passengers the opportunity to see and cheer the royals. The Queen waved at your blipper, strategically positioned in the carpark, and at every other soul in sight.
One note: several people had their cruise on the Hebridean Princess cancelled, because Her Majesty wanted the boat for her holiday cruise. She'll be on the waves of the Hebrides for the next two weeks.
