Boy and a beetle!

This afternoon (Day2 of the summer holidays), we went on a let's get out of the house trip to a local village. The main purpose - besides getting out of the house - was to collect a prescription from the Doctor, but this village has a great park, so we combined the two. On the way to the Doctors surgery we came across this little Beetle. I think he's a stag beetle, please correct me if I'm wrong. He fascinated Master Pink, and I was rather surprised to see him. We used to have these beetles in the garden a lot in the summers of my childhood. Anyway here is a closer view of the fella, be careful he doesn't nip you!
Oh and the park was fun too. master Pink found a "friend" to play with, and they burnt up lots of energy. Baby Pink wandered around, mainly in the opposite direction from Master Pink. And hurrah - the fish and chip shop was open - that was tea sorted then! (well it's only the summer holidays once a year!)
