A Difficult Journey

Leaving ...

Tomorrow is James' last day at his junior school.

Being the sensitive soul he is, I know he will be upset tomorrow. He's taking in a shirt for all the children and teachers to sign ... for him to keep as a memento of his time there.

He's been given lots of stuff this week - a framed photograph taken whilst on his residential trip to France, and a CD full of photos from that trip too! And a 'Year 6 yearbook' on DVD with photographs of ALL the children from his year together with photos from other school trips, events from the last 4 years at school and the school productions they've been involved in - a slide show set to music - which James actually helped to produce!

He won an attendance award - for he and Sophie were 2 out of only 20 children from a school of 450 pupils that had 100% attendance for the whole school year. James has made it through a few years without being off ill (or being taken out of school for holidays or dentist's appointments and the like) but it's the first year that Sophie has made it through without any time off at all.

The teachers presents were bottles of wine, in case you're wondering. I don't remember giving my teachers any presents when I left a school - let alone at the end of any normal school year!?

Lucky teachers!
