It's a beetle, man

Took advantage of the dry day today to catch up in the garden.

Found his chap. I would have put something beside him to give an idea of scale, as he was a bit of a monster; about an inch and a half from top to tail. But he was a bit of a scurrier, and didn't seem keen to hang about for this blipper to take advantage of him.

Did you know there are over 400,000 species of beetle? No? Neither did I until I tried to look up what kind he was. So, unless any of you folks out there know what he is, I'll stick with 'beetle'.
