New park

T has been sick with a virus since yesterday. He's had a fever off and on, not too high, and a sore throat. Although he says his throat doesn't hurt anymore. We passed up swimming today and went and saw Ramona and Beezus. I didn't realize until I watched the preview online that it was from the Ramona Quimby series by Beverly Cleary. I love those books. I wasn't sure if T would think it was "for girls", so, I let him watch the preview and he was interested. It ended being great, really great. It made me feel good and I cried (which I don't do easily but I love getting that emotionally invested) and I laughed. T sat there smiling and enthralled the whole time. Good stuff.
We went home and relaxed, but eventually T got restless. So we got online and looked at an map of all the parks in Austin and found a new one near us. He rode his scooter, we took a walk through the basketball and tennis courts and then he played on the playground. When we got home I had him take a cool bath. I made pork chops, couscous (his fav) and corn on the cob. He ate a little, which was encouraging, took some ibuprofen and passed out on the couch. Here's to hoping he sleep the night through and wakes up feeling all better.
