Strange Face

I visited the new Walnut Creek Library today hoping for some nice interior shots, but the lighting, which may be good for reading or watching a computer screen, was terrible for photography. The library itself seems very functional and is certainly nicer than the one it replaced, but I found it to be UGLY!

This is a two-story work of art shot from the second floor balcony. The little orange sign at the bottom left says "View through the lens of a camera." When viewed through a camera lens, the face appears on what is otherwise an entire wall filled with bricks of various shades of gray. I don't know why, and the sign offered no explanation. I think it's ugly either way, but it's an interesting phenomenon.
