THERE MUST BE A NEST SOMEWHERE

I found these "European wasps" while splitting logs, from the wood pile.
Usually I wouldn't get this close, but it's the middle of winter and they have been hibernating or what ever they do when it's cold,
and they are "slower than a statue in full sprint" at the moment.

When I look at creatures like these, I laugh at the people who consistently presume aliens will look human like ( if they exist, of course).
All creatures are designed to cope with their own environment?s, ie fish from the deep who can exist in the huge pressures, darkness and freezing temperatures down there.
