Church Shoes

Put on your good shoes to go to church!
(Or not, because we are going to leave them outside.)

In Thai culture, you take off your shoes before entering your home and certain other places. I haven't figured out yet how it is determined where you take off your shoes and where that is unnecessary. So far in my observations, language school, some internet cafes, and church fall into the "take your shoes off" category. Grocery stores, common areas, and coffee shops fall into the "leave your shoes on" category.

This was only one corner of the patio where shoes had collected outside of church this morning. Praise God for all the feet, bodies, hearts, and souls inside the building!
